Working principally with the still life motif, I am attempting to depart from the neutral premise of the still life, in favour of a more subjective proposition: encouraging a personalised ‘poetic’ interpretation of the images and the objects depicted within them.' Simon Cooper has staged more than 10 solo exhibitions in both Melbourne and Sydney and he has also been involved with over 40 group exhibitions.
