Greg Weight

Australian photographer

(b. 1945, Manly, NSW)

Greg Weight's photography moved closer to the Australian art world in 1971 when he moved to the Yellow House in Potts Point Sydney. It was where he reconnected with Martin Sharp and met Brett Whiteley, George Gittoes and Garry Shead. Since then he has been a professional fine art photographer and has continued to build a significant collection of portraits of Australian artists. His book Australian Artists, Portraits by Greg Weight was published by Chapter and Verse in 2004. In 2003 he was the inaugural winner of the Australian Photographic Portrait Prize at the AGNSW. Greg Weight is based in Sydney where he continues to work professionally. He is represented by Australian Galleries.
