Australian painter

(b. 1951, Sydney, Australia)

Bruce Latimer is a printmaker known for his complex and subtle landscape-based etchings. He layers and combines imagery as a way of exploring human interaction with the natural world. As Canberra Times art critic, Professor Sasha Grishin has noted, “Latimer has the rare ability through the complete of mastery of technique to create wonderfully seductive images which are beautiful and captivating as art objects but which also carry a considerable punch.” Bruce Latimer’s work is included in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, most state galleries and many regional galleries. He has had 15 solo exhibitions since 1974 and participated in numerous group exhibitions.
